A 45-year-old father pleaded guilty today to charges of raping and molesting his two daughters at the Sessions Court here. The offences occurred last month at their home in Batu Pahat. Appearing before Judge Sayani Mohd Nor, the man, who works as a tile installer, made his plea after the charges were read to him. The first charge accuses him of raping his 14-year-old daughter at their family home between 2.30pm and 4.00pm on Aug 28. This charge falls under Section 376(3) of the Penal Code, where he could face up to 30 years in prison and at least 10 strokes of the cane. The second charge involves the physical sexual assault of his 11-year-old daughter in April this year, also at the same residence. The charge is under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act (AKKSTKK) 2017, which can lead to up to 20 years in prison and caning.
